Preparing Households for the Oil Palm Replanting Program: Is an Empowerment Program Needed?

This article describes a new idea of how the level intervention in household empowerment policies is based on an empirical study magnitude negative impact smallholder palm oil replanting (SPR) program. One impacts temporary loss income (TLI) for farmer households due to cessation production fruit bunches. aims analyze SPR program and regional economies as basis making decisions intensity community programs. The survey research was conducted three village centers rubber plantations Jambi Province, Indonesia: Purwodadi Village, Dataran Kempas, Sungai Keruh. result shows that average potential TLI each IDR 2,364,644/month (equivalent 74.55% or 39.78% economy) if carried out. Village most vulnerable economic disturbances high TLI, reaching 99.43% 67.06% economy. influenced by factors age area old plants, proportion will undergo process palm, dependence regions farming.
